How do I get to the Conference from the Airport? Is there parking at the Conference Venue?
See here for ways to get around in Canberra. The Airport is only 8.5 kilometers away from the Conference Venue, and only a short 11 minute car ride.
Onsite car parking is only available for guests staying at QT Canberra (1 London Circuit, Canberra) and is charged at $12.00 per night, subject to availability. Guests attending events have a number of options with 4 public car parking stations surrounding the hotel, each within a 2 minute walk to the hotel (3rd party charges do apply). Delegates are also able to use public transport or make their way on foot (Canberra is very easy to walk around, as it is flat). If you do require parking, click here to view your options.
What is the dress code for the Conference?
The dress code is smart casual or informal business.

What’s included in my registration? How do I cancel or make a change to my registration?
Full Registration includes attendance at all sessions of the Conference, including morning and afternoon refreshments, lunch, attendance at the Welcome Reception Drinks, handbook, satchel and name badge. Attendance at the Conference Dinner may be booked at an additional cost. Guest tickets for social functions may also be purchased via the online registration form.
Day Registration includes entry to all sessions on the chosen day of attendance, morning and afternoon refreshments, lunch, handbook, satchel and name badge. Tickets to the social functions are not included in this registration type, and may be purchased at an additional cost.
Cancellations must be received in writing – mail, email or fax – to Leishman Associates. Cancellations will not be deemed to be received until you have written confirmation from Leishman Associates. If you have not received acknowledgement within two business days, please contact Leishman Associates on (03) 6234 7844.Cancellations postmarked on or before, 1 month before the Conference, will incur a fee of 50% of the registration amount. No refunds will be made for cancellations for the Conference postmarked after 1 month before the Conference, however substitutions may be accepted.
How do I gain entry to the Conference sessions? Will there be security?
Delegates and exhibitors will be provided with an individual name badge, which will give you access to all sessions and social events that you have registered to attend. This must be worn at all times within the conference venue.
The members of the conference organising committee and Leishman Associates accept no liability for personal accident of loss or damage suffered by any participant, accompanying person, invited observer or any other person by whatever means. Nor do we accept liability for any equipment or software brought to the conference by delegates, speakers, sponsors or any other party. Please protect your personal property. Do not leave laptops, cameras, and other valuable items unsecured.
Be conscious of individuals who appear out of place and do not wear a conference name badge. Advise Leishman Associates staff if this does not occur.
Will there be Wi-Fi?
Complimentary wireless internet access will be available to delegates for the duration of the Conference

How will I know if there have been any changes to the program?
In the lead-up to the Conference small updates may be made to the program. See the latest version HERE. Any changes to the Conference program during the Conference will be announced during housekeeping notices each morning. You may also check with Leishman Associates staff at the registration desk, or by looking at the whiteboard in the refreshment break area.
I have special dietary requirements – what should I do?
As part of the registration process you will have advised Conference Managers of any dietary requirements. Caterers at each function will be informed of these. During the day and at social functions, venue staff will be available to advise delegates with regards to their dietary needs. If you are unsure, please don’t hesitate to ask staff at the Registration Desk.
IMPORTANT– If your dietary request relates to a life threatening allergy, please ensure that you advise the organisers as soon as possible so that we can communicate with the Venue/s.
Can I photograph or record the sessions? Can I have access to presentations post-Conference?
Unauthorised photography, audio taping, video recording, digital taping or any other form of duplication is strictly prohibited in Conference sessions.
PowerPoint presentations will be available on the Conference website following the conclusion of the Conference. Speakers are not obligated to release their presentation for delegate access.

Once you register online you will receive a confirmation email which will detail all your inclusions. Please do not assume that by registering for the Conference that you have opted to attend either social function. You must indicate your attendance to attend at the time of registering or by contacting Emily, as entry to social functions is strictly by ticket only.

How do I book accommodation? How do I pay for accommodation once it’s booked? How do I change or cancel my booking?
To book accommodation please email Emily Marriott. You will be asked to provide your credit card details to secure the booking. Payment for your accommodation will not be taken until you check in or out of the Hotel.
When you book your accommodation your credit card details will be transferred to the hotel you have selected – please confirm this on check in with your hotel. Your credit card will not be charged until you check in or out. If the credit card you intend on using to pay for the accommodation does not belong to you, the Hotel will require an authority form to be signed. This can be collected from Leishman Associates or with the Hotel directly.
Please email Emily Marriott to cancel or change your accommodation prior to the Conference. If you need to cancel your accommodation booking within 30 days of your arrival date any cancellation fees will be subject to the hotel cancellation policy. Therefore, no accommodation refund can be guaranteed within 30 business days of the Conference. If you alter your accommodation booking after you have checked in, please deal directly with the hotel. If you arrive 24 hours later than your indicated arrival day, charges will apply.

If you have any special requests with regards to mobility, call the number above to arrange as this hotel does not have a lift.
I am speaking – what should I do?
Speakers are requested to bring their presentation on USB and load to the laptop in the room they are presenting on arrival at the Conference and no later than 3 hours prior to their session time.
Any queries should be directed to Helene and Emily at the Registration Desk. An AV Technician will be onsite to provide assistance.
Speakers are requested to assemble in their session room five minutes before the commencement of their session to familiarise themselves with the room and the audio visual equipment.
If there are three papers in a session, each speaker will have 20 minutes to present their paper and 2 minutes for questions. If there are four papers in a session, each speaker will have 15 minutes to present their paper and 7 minutes for questions.
It is requested that the final speaker of a contributed session act as timekeeper/Chair for that session.
The Conference reserves the right to amend or alter any advertised details relating to dates, program and speakers if necessary, without notice, as a result of circumstances beyond their control. All attempts have been made to keep any changes to an absolute minimum.
